GOD’S PERFECT PEACE

Is. 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, whose thoughts are fixed on you. NLT

The only way to really have peace in your soul is to trust in the Lord explicitly. There is no room for mistrust in the Lord. We take God for what He says and without reservation believe it. Understanding everything He says is not the issue. We believe God because it is God who has spoken. Trusting in God’s character is absolutely non-negotiable if we desire peace with Him. Peace comes when we by faith stand on the firm foundation of who God reveals himself to be, the “I AM” of life in all His glory. He is Absolute Perfection in all that is good and holy.

Peace is the result of our fixation on Him. When the Lord dominates our thinking, it soothes the soul. When our thinking is constantly being influenced by Him, we are able to live stress free. The more the Lord overshadows our lives, the better we are able to cope with life. Stress will still come, but when it does and we fix our thoughts on the Lord and His Word, stress loses its grip on us.

If peace eludes you, I challenge you to redirect your thoughts. Discipline yourself to think on the Lord and His Word. Let the wonder and glory of God captivate your thoughts. Learn to dwell on Him and not those things which stress you out. Spend more time in the Word and in prayer. Take the time to wait before the Lord without any agenda other than to have fellowship with Him. Learn to approach Him with praise and thanksgiving. If you do these things, you will certainly find the peace of soul you need and long for.
