ONE BODY IN CHRIST

Eph. 4:4-6 We are all one body, we have the same Spirit, and we have all been called to the same glorious future. There is only one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and there is only one God and Father, who is over us all and in all and living through all.

This message should be shouted out in every church that proclaims the Gospel message. It is a message that needs to be proclaimed over and over again. It is a message that must be learned and lived. Yet, it is a message that simply is not lived.

There is but one body that is consisted of every believer in Jesus Christ. There are not many bodies; there is but one body. No matter what label we give ourselves, we are all one in Christ. Christ is not divided and He does not favor one church body over another. There are many churches, but only one true church. Every believer is a part of the one true church body.

Our oneness in Christ ought to keep us from playing the many different games we play in the name of Christ. We have no right to look down on other believers' ways of worship and service. We have no right to think that we are better than others. We have no right to talk down other church bodies who are proclaiming Christ and His Word. We have no right to alienate ourselves from other church bodies we are uncomfortable with. We are all one in Christ, all members of the body of Christ.

A divided church is Satan's delight. We need to stop focusing on what divides us and start focusing on what unites us. We should be lifting up Jesus, proclaiming Him as Savior and Lord, and serving Him. We will not make a difference in addressing the world's problems until we do. Let us join together in Jesus' name and be the salt and light of the world we are in Christ.
