JESUS, THE CORNERSTONE

Eph. 2:20-21 We are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself. We who believe are carefully joined together, becoming a holy temple for the Lord.

The church is God's house, the place where Jesus dwells. It is a place of comfort and security. It is a place where the soul is refreshed and nurtured. It is a place where we can relax and just be ourselves away from the eyes of the world. It is a place where we have fellowship with those who mean the most to us, the ones we truly love. It is a place where we are family.

The church is built on the foundation of all those whom God sent to guide and instruct us in the way of holiness. The apostles and prophets were people who were sent by God to blaze the trail of faith. They served as examples to follow. They were deep people of faith. Jesus is the cornerstone. He is the one who holds the house together. We who believe are totally dependent on Him. Without Him, we would crumble and fall.

God puts us together and we become one. God takes very special care to place us where we belong. He makes each of us differently to serve the purposes He has for us. He is the architect of the master plan, to make us holy. It always has been God's desire to make us, the church, holy. In fact, no one who is not holy is a part of the true church. Are you a part of God's church today?
