TREATING OTHERS WITH GRACE

Rom. 14:10 So why do you condemn another Christian? Why do you look down on another Christian? Remember, each of us will stand personally before the judgment seat of God.

This is a very important lesson for us to learn and remember.  We do not have the right to sit in judgment on other believers.  We do not have the right to put ourselves in higher positions than others.  It is not good for us to think we are better than other believers.  We are all equal in the sight of God and each of us will stand before the judgment seat of God and give an account to Him for our lives.

There is a difference between condemning other believers and holding them responsible for what they do in the name of Jesus.  We dare not let other believers act irresponsibly in their faith walk within the church.  When they sin openly it affects the life of the church body and her witness in the community.  We cannot let anyone sin and get away with it.  We must deal with the matter Biblically and graciously. The goal of all confrontation must be the restoration of the soul to God.

Aside from matters that must be addressed by the church body, we have no right to look down on other believers who we may have issues with.  It is not our business to try and change anyone.  We are to live graciously and peacefully with one another.  We are to love each other in Christ.  Forgiving each other should be the norm and not the exception.  We should be quick to put matters of disagreement behind us and leave them there.

Where we lack the ability to live graciously and lovingly with one another, we need to ask the Lord to forgive us and help us to act more like Christ towards one another.  Is there someone you need to ask the Lord to help you act more like Him towards?
