I Cor. 1:30 God alone made it possible for you to be in Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made Christ to be wisdom itself. He is the one who made us acceptable to God. He made us pure and holy, and he gave himself to purchase our freedom.
Only God could unite our hearts with Christ, and He did it. It is possible for the soul of man to be made like the soul of Christ, holy and acceptable to God. When we accept what Jesus did for us at Calvary, confess our sins to Him, ask Him to forgive us, and strive to live a life free from sin, we are made one in Christ before God.
Christ becomes for us our wisdom from God. It is living in Christ that enables us to understand and apply the Word of God to life. It is living in Christ that enables us to distinguish between that which is righteous before God and that which is sin. It is living in Jesus that enables us to stay out of the clutches of Satan by resisting him in Jesus' name.
Christ makes us acceptable to God. Mysteriously, Jesus imparts His righteousness onto our souls. We are made pure and holy before God. We are set free from our sinful nature that compels us to sin. We are given a desire to live lives that please God instead of ourselves. We are given a whole new perspective on a life that is worth the living.
Christ gave up His life on earth so that we can have eternal life with God. Jesus did not have to go to Calvary in our place, but He did. He had the right and authority to skip the cross, but He wouldn't. He loves us and willingly gave up His life on the cross so that we could live in freedom from our sins. He gave up His life so that we could be free to enjoy life in God and all of His blessings from heaven. He gave up His life so that we could be free to enjoy the peace and contentment that is only found in Christ. Hallelujah, what a Savior!!
