WHY AM I HERE? 2
I Chron. 28:10 “So take this seriously. The LORD has chosen you to build a Temple as his sanctuary. Be strong, and do the work.” NLT
King David was giving his son, Solomon, some fatherly advice as he took over as king over Israel. Solomon was given the task by God to build the Temple. Solomon was young and inexperienced, but David knew that with God’s help he could do it. In order to do what God has given us to do, we too must be strong. We must be strong in faith and strong in character.
The best way to be strong in faith is first to be well-grounded in the faith and then to apply to your living your faith. No one is so well-grounded that they don’t need to continue to feed their soul and pursue Christ. We are weak in the flesh and constantly need to work on keeping our souls healthy. It is not enough to have a head knowledge of the faith, we must have a heart knowledge as well. We must be so rooted in Christ that He influences every aspect of our daily living.
We must as well be strong in character. We will never be stronger in character than our weakest point. Therefore, we must strive to constantly make our weaker points stronger. It’s not an easy task to do, but we must strive to become better versions of ourselves as much as we can. We will never get better if we don’t try.
Why are we here? We are to do the work God has given us to do. There is always more work to do than people to do it. Just get busy and do what you can do for the Lord. Remember, there is no one who can do your job better than you. You are the one chosen by God to do what you are given to do. Others may. do similar things that you can do, but no one can be you. Also, there is no point in putting off until tomorrow what you can do today. “Be strong and do the work.”
