WHO MAY WORSHIP GOD

Ps. 15:1 Who may worship in your sanctuary, LORD? Who may enter your presence on your holy hill?

The rest of this Psalm provides us some answers. Over the next few days we will be looking at what the Psalmist has to say and hopefully glean from his observations some necessary food for our thoughts. Today we will look at verse two. There we discover that it is those who lead blameless lives and do what is right speaking the truth from sincere hearts.

True worshipers, those whom God hears, are those who live blameless lives. Tomorrow we will consider the rest of this verse. How can any of us live blameless lives? There is only one way, and that is by living in close fellowship with Christ. Only Jesus can make and keep us blameless before God. I Corinthians 1:30 tells us that He is our wisdom, righteousness and holiness before God. Romans 8:1 tells us that there is no condemnation for those who live in Christ Jesus. Apart from Christ we are guilty of sin and cannot approach God. In Christ, we are blameless and may come to Him boldly and without fear.

Any act of worship without Christ is just that, an act. Christ is the center and reason for all worship of God. How often do you try to approach God without first coming to Jesus?
