CONTENT IN CHRIST

Phil. 4:11-13 ...Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to get along happily whether I have much or little. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything with the help of Christ who gives me the strength I need.

The world tells us we need more than what we do. It tells us that we need what we want, when in reality we don't. The world exploits our wants for its own selfish purposes.

The Lord helps us to know the difference between what we want and what we need if we listen to Him. He does not withhold from us what we need, but He does withhold from us what we don't need. One of the most important and valuable lessons of faith that we can learn is how to be content with what the Lord provides for us. We must learn that quantity of blessings is not the key to joyfulness of salvation. We can be just as content and joyful in Christ if we lived on the streets as we could if we lived in mansions.

The key to victorious faith is knowing that we can do absolutely anything the Lord gives us to do when we let Him live in us and work through us. The Lord never asks us to do anything that can't be done with His help. He never asks us to do anything that is contrary to His character or will. He guarantees to take care of our every need when we live submissively before him.

Let our prayer always be to live happily where we are at the moment we are in regardless of our life's circumstances. The Lord is with us where we are at and will never leave or forsake us. He will never overlook any need we have and He will always enable us to do everything He calls upon us to do.
