UNDER SCRUTINY

UNDER SCRUTINY

Dan. 6:4 Then the other administrators and princes began searching for some fault in the way Daniel was handling his affairs, but they couldn’t find anything to criticize. He was faithful and honest and always responsible. NLT

First of all, if you are serving the Lord faithfully, you will be watched and there will be those who will try to find fault with your walk with the Lord. It comes with the territory and is unavoidable.

Secondly, if you are faithfully serving the Lord to the best of your ability, you will be found faultless before God. Like our Lord, any criticisms or judgments rendered against you will be false. So, don’t sweat what others may say about you or to you. As long as you know you are obedient to Christ, you have nothing to worry about or fear.

The other thing I see here is the application part. God said that Daniel was faithful, honest, and always responsible. Can God say the same thing about you? What does the Lord think about you? As you look into the mirror of His Word, does He convict you of wrong doing? Does He constantly reprimand you because you are not living up to your profession of faith in Him?

Let us strive to live in such a way that He can say of us that we are faithful, honest, and always responsible followers of Him. We are not perfect and need to diligently seek to stay right with God, but if we are servants with hearts of integrity, the Lord will be well-pleased.
