ONE IN CHRIST
Luke 9:49-50 John said to Jesus, “Master, we saw someone using your name to cast out demons. We tried to stop him because he isn’t in our group.” But Jesus said, “Don’t stop him! Anyone who is not against you is for you.” NLT
We who are in Christ are all one, no matter the details of how we chose to live in Him or express our faith. There is a wide diversity of faith expressions in the church. Some of our differences are large. We tend to look down on those amongst us who are different than us. We tend to judge those who think and act differently than we do.
What we must realize is that God cannot be put into the box of any particular church body. He moves amongst men in ways we may not think possible. He acts differently than what we think He should. We must not hinder God in our minds and just accept what He is doing amongst men. As God moves in His mysterious ways, we ought to rejoice over every victory won.
Everyone who is part of the family of God is united equally in Christ. All those outside of our circle of believers are brothers and sisters in Christ. Every church fellowship where Christ is exalted is part of our family. Every believer is one of us, regardless of what church they may be a part of. We don’t have to agree with everyone on how we interpret Scripture and endeavor to live it out. But, we do have to embrace in love all who are in our family.
Let us be a people who love each other unconditionally. Let us unite together for the glory of Christ in the world. Let us be a people who rally together at the foot of the cross and keep the main thing in the church Christ and His mission to reach those who are lost until He comes.
