Ezra 9:15 O LORD, God of Israel, you are just. We stand before you
in our guilt as nothing but an escaped remnant, though in such a condition none
of us can stand in your presence.
Like Ezra, we too need
to see ourselves as standing before God in our guilt. It is easy to convince
and condition ourselves into believing that we have nothing to be guilty for.
But, guilty we are. No one is free from guilt before our holy God. The sooner
we admit it, the better we are.
We are guilty of
sinning against God and there is nothing we can do to stop it. But, Jesus can.
Only Jesus can cleanse and purify our souls. Only Jesus can present us before
God as righteous and pure. And, only we can let Him do it for us. It is why we
must never stray from Him. Apart from Him we stand alone before God, and we
will be found guilty of sin.
