NOT A HINDRANCE
II Cor. 6:3 We try to live in such a way that no one will be
hindered from finding the Lord by the way we act, and so no one can find fault
with our ministry. NLT
How hard are you
trying to live so that you won’t be a hindrance to others who may be seeking
God? Are you living in such a way that
no one will hear one thing and see something else in your life?
People are not
stupid. They can spot hypocrisy. When our walk does not match our talk, they
tune us out. Sinful behavior in the
lives of professing believers turns people off.
Most people will not pay attention to a God who does not change
lives. They know their own sinfulness
and are not happy with it, but if the Lord cannot help them with it, then they
won’t be willing to put their trust in Him to change them.
People will listen to
us when they see real changes in us.
They pay attention when it is obvious that Christ has made a real and positive
change in our lives—in our talk and in our walk. We do have a negative or positive impact on
the eternal decisions people make by the way we live. If we truly love the Lord we will not hinder
someone’s pursuit of God by the way we live.
We daily portray Christ in a positive or negative light.
Ask the Lord to help
you be a help and not a hindrance to those seeking Him.
