BREAKING GOD’S LAWS
James 2:10 And the person who keeps all of the laws except one is as guilty as the person who has broken all of God's laws. NLT
James reminds us of a very important truth: we cannot ever be good enough to make it to heaven on our own. No amount of effort will enable us to be able to live good enough lives to earn God's favor. If you were to be able to perfectly keep all of God's laws but one, you are as guilty before God as if you weren't able to keep any of them. All of our efforts to live good lives are a waste of life as far as God is concerned. God wants you to know today that you are guilty of sin. Period. You are under the curse of the law. He who sins will face God's wrath. No amount of submission to a church's rules will save you. Your only hope is in God's provision for your salvation, Jesus Christ our Lord.
You cannot earn your salvation and you cannot keep your salvation by your efforts. What saves us is our personal relationship with Christ. Jesus did everything that needed to be done at Calvary for our salvation. It is in Christ alone that we find forgiveness and pleasure in God's eyes. It is He who makes us and keeps us. Our efforts to please Him must be rooted in our relationship with Him.
There is a lot of misinformation floating around in the Church today. Our standing with God does not depend on our efforts. We must strive to live godly lives, but our efforts do not make us right with God. Our righteousness and holiness is rooted in Christ alone. He frees us from our own efforts. He frees us up so that we can live guilt-free lives. Our only hope for perfected lives is found in our relationship with Christ.
Do yourself a favor and quit trying to please God by your own efforts. Jesus already did for you what you are trying to do. Live in Christ and let Him live through you and you will find favor in God's eyes.
