Rom. 6:11 So you should consider yourselves dead to sin and able to live for the glory of God.
If you are a child of God, you should consider yourself dead to sin. What this means is simply that a child of God no longer considers himself to be held captive by sin. He no longer is bound to sin when faced with temptations. He no longer is a victim, but a victor.
A child of God no longer dwells on sin or seeks opportunities to do it. He strives to squelch any attraction sin may have on him. He senses when he is being drawn into it and takes measures to get away from it. He sees sin as an enemy and not a friend. He understands the nature of sin is death and strives to not sin against God.
A child of God sees life from a totally different perspective. He sees himself as free from the burden and condemnation of sin and strives to live for the glory of God. Life is no longer temporary pleasures, but eternal joys. His life becomes a living testimony of how great God is and how majestic He is in love and mercy. He honors Christ in all he does. His life becomes a living testimony of God's grace and it brings glory to God as he lives amongst men.
